Is Using AI for Good at Work Possible?

Everyone is talking about AI in business today. Most are focused on tools, speed, productivity, and disruption.

But here’s something worth thinking about: AI is not what drives the business. HOW you use AI—what you align it with—is what builds lasting trust, attracts the right people, and helps to keep your culture alive.

It IS possible to use AI for good—when you align it with the values and purpose of the company, when you prioritize your people and work together in a smart collaboration.

I have often said the quality of your life is dependent on the quality of the questions you ask. This can also be applied to how we build businesses and use AI in a way that will be beneficial.

The AI adoption curve is steep and moving so fast right now. Anyone in the AI space is saying it is like a firehose every week. With over 40,000 AI start ups, tools and solutions emerging in the last three years, AI is being integrated into every corner of business operations—from marketing and HR to product development and customer service.

But too often, the focus is one-dimensional:

  • How much time can we save?
  • How many tasks can we automate?
  • How much cheaper can this become?

There’s a missing layer. One that most companies aren’t talking about enough:
How do we use AI in a way that strengthens who we are, not just what we do?

Purpose driven leaders are approaching this differently. They are not afraid of AI. They are not obsessing over replacing people. And they are not blindly jumping on every trend.

Instead, they’re asking deeper questions:

  • Will this make life better—for our team and our customers?
  • How does this align with our purpose?
  • Are we using AI to elevate our values or bypass them?

The more you work with AI, the more it becomes a mirror. It highlights your strengthens but it often glosses over any blind spots—unless you ask for it.

There are three areas that AI can be used to leverage your advantage.

  1. Trust becomes your edge
Trust is the foundation for any great company culture. AI can feel impersonal. But when used with intention, it can actually deepen trust. Transparency, ethical choices, and clear communication set you apart in a world that’s watching closely.
  2. You attract aligned talent
The best people want more than a paycheck. They want to build something meaningful. When your AI strategy reflects your values and your culture, it sends a signal—one that attracts people who want to grow and be a part of making a positive impact.
  3. Your culture evolves instead of erodes
Everyone is in a massive paradigm shift right now. AI is changing how we work. Leaders who are guiding that change intentionally are creating cultures that stay resilient, human, and future-ready.

Most companies are asking: “How fast can we implement AI?”

A more powerful question would be:
How do we implement AI in a way that helps our people and our purpose thrive?

Because the leaders who use AI for good are already showing us something. They’ are not just keeping up. They are building what’s next—with more humanity, more impact,  more intention, and more trust. And this is what will win the long term race!
